Do you suffer
from severe heel pain?
My husband did for many years. Often
when getting out of bed he could
barely walk. We learned that pain in
the heel is the most common problem
of the foot and ankle.
There are many
causes of heel pain.
These can
include: wearing shoes with hard
soles or that rub against the back
of the heel, too much standing or
walking on hard surfaces, extra
stress on the feet from being
overweight or bruising from stepping
on something hard like a stone.
After a visit to
his doctor he learned that he had
Plantar
fasciitis which can cause
severe heel pain. This is an
inflammation of the plantar fascia,
a fibrous band of tissue connecting
your heel bone to the base of your
toes. It is an overuse injury
affecting the sole or flexor surface
(plantar) of the foot.He also learned
that it is the most common cause of
heel pain.
Plantar fasciitis
treatment includes: rest,
stretching
exercises, ice 20 minutes three to
four times a day and arch foot
support. Now after months of
treatment and arch foot support he
has relief from his symptoms.
Heel Spurs can be
another cause of severe heel pain.
This is a deposit of calcium which
may form where the fascia tissue
band connects to your heel bone
causing pain in the heel. X-rays may
be taken to see the bony protrusion,
which can vary in size. Treatment
for heel spurs is usually the same
as for plantar fasciitis: rest until
the pain subsides, stretching
exercises, ice 20 minutes three to
four times a day and wear a heel pad
insert.

HTP
Heel Seat™.
These heel seats feature a
"Fasciitis Bar" that applies
acupressure directly beneath
the part of the foot where
the heel meets the arch of
the foot. This patented

natural fat pad while
providing support to prevent

Pain behind the
heel is another common form of
severe heel pain. This is often
caused by people running too much or
wearing shoes that rub or cut into
the back of the heel. Pain behind
the heel typically develops slowly
over time, and may cause symptoms of
swelling, redness and thickness in
the skin. This is very painful and
you may find that you cannot wear
normal shoes.
Before you choose
a heel pain remedy you need to seek
the advice of your medical doctor. I
know that my husband was so much
happier... and so was I... once he should
treatment from our primary care
physician. Treatment options for
severe heel pain
may include: resting from daily
activities that caused the problem,
pain medication, wearing open back
shoes, doing plantar fasciitis
stretching exercises, ice 20 minutes
three to four times a day and arch
foot support.
